Pink Floyd were an English BAND. The band were formed in London. Pink Floyd were founded in 1965. The band were formed by Syd Barrett(Guitar, Vocal), Nick Mason(Drums), Roger Waters(Bass,Synthesizer,Vocal) and Richard Wright(Keyboards,Synthesizer) when they were student. Pink Floyd were an Psychedelic/Progressive Rock Band. In December 1967 David Gilmour(Guitar, Vocal) joined the band as the fifth member. In the history of popular music they are very successful Band in all over the world. They were success by their tonic experimentation, philosophical lyrics and innovative compositions. They performed in London's underground music scene during the late 1960's and gained most popularity. Pink Floyd released two charting singles and a successful album under Syd Barrett's leadership. In April 1968 Due to deteriorating mental health Barrett left the band. The Band's primary lyricist was Waters. Waters devising the concepts of Pink Floyd's critically and commercially successful albums The Dark Side of the Moon(1973), Wish You Were Here(1975), Animals(1977), The Wall(1979) and The Final Cut(1983). The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall became two of the best-selling albums of all time.
In 1979 Wright and in 1985 Waters left the Band. After that Gilmour and Mason continued the band. Wright rejoined the band as a band member. In 1987 they produced one more album A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Devision Bell in 1994.
Barrett died in 2006 and Wright in 2008. The final studio album The Endless River, recorded without Waters which was released in November 7, 2014.
